Warsaw Glitch and Ursula

Created by Michał Owerczuk, the Warsaw Glitch festival took place from August 28 to August 30, 2026, in Warsaw. The event brought together more than 1,400 participants, over 120 speakers, and around 70 events, connecting filmmakers, artists, technology creators, and investors to discuss the future of cinema and humanity’s role in the world of artificial intelligence.

Sessions were hosted across the Warsaw Presidential Hotel, Teatr 6. Piętro, and the Documentary and Feature Film Studios. Discussions centered on film production, copyright, the protection of actors’ likenesses, and creative financing. The festival was opened by Professor Krzysztof Zanussi, who spoke on humanity in the era of transhumanism, alongside international guests such as Martin Kunert, Eric Manes, Meggie Miao, and Minh Do.

The event also highlighted the Polish team’s victory at the GenJam Director’s Cup, a tournament featuring 510 films. The highest-rated production of the finals was “Ursula,” created by Michał Owerczuk and the Polish Eagles team, drawing inspiration from the works of Polish poets Jan Kochanowski and Bolesław Leśmian.

Warsaw Glitch additionally featured the launch of the Brainer Venture talent initiative and the StartUp Battle tech competition, examining investments in human creativity alongside AI advancements.
