Behind-the-scenes details have been revealed for Special Ops, a groundbreaking film project produced for the Museum of the Second World War in Poland (Muzeum II Wojny Światowej w Gdańsku). The project consists of four short hybrid films depicting missions carried out by the European resistance against the Nazis.

Each installment in the series was overseen and directed by an individual director, combining a single lead live-action actor with AI-generated visuals. Michał Owerczuk directed and edited the short film Heavy Water, crafting the story of the daring Norwegian commando mission that halted the Nazi nuclear program and developing his own custom workflow for the production.
Produced in winter 2024 and spring 2025 under creative producer Matt Subieta, PhD, the production integrated live-action film sets with a broad range of AI tools, including Midjourney, OpenAI, Runway, Google DeepMind, Stability AI, Luma AI, Topaz Labs, and Vidu AI.
