The inaugural edition of Warsaw Glitch took place from August 28 to 30, 2026, across three locations: the Warsaw Presidential Hotel, Teatr 6. Piętro at the Palace of Culture and Science, and the Documentary and Feature Film Studios on Chełmska Street. The gathering attracted more than 1,400 attendees and over 120 speakers for approximately 70 panels, conversations, screenings, and masterclasses.
The event was created by filmmaker Michał Owerczuk, who serves as the founder and Artistic Director of Warsaw Glitch and captain of the Polish national team competing in the international GenJam Director’s Cup. OverJK designed the festival to move beyond the generative AI bubble, putting technology creators on the same stages as traditional directors, actors, producers, screenwriters, lawyers, scientists, and investors from Europe, North America, and Asia.
The festival opened with a keynote by Polish director Krzysztof Zanussi on humanity in the age of transhumanism. Over the three days, participants explored the practical and ethical boundaries of artificial intelligence in cinema, actor likeness and performance rights, and the future of human creativity in entertainment.
