Owerczuk Leads AI Cup Team

Poland’s national team, Team Eagles, has advanced to the semifinals of the GenJam Director’s Cup, a global AI filmmaking tournament featuring creators from over 60 countries. Poland earned its spot in the final four after defeating France and subsequently knocking out Nigeria, one of the world’s largest film industries.

Owerczuk Leads AI Cup Team

Captained by director and AI Production Architect Michał Owerczuk, Team Eagles unites traditional film professionals with specialists in artificial intelligence, virtual production, and post-production. In each round of the Director’s Cup, participants face a four-hour filmmaking sprint, developing an original story, generating visuals and sound, editing, and submitting a complete film based on assigned prompts.

Owerczuk also played an instrumental role in shaping the tournament itself. Minh Do of Machine Cinema publicly credited the Polish director for inspiring the national team competition format.

A filmmaker, documentarian, and specialist in combining classical cinematic language with generative tools, Owerczuk has prior experience in international GenJams. His film Broken Arrow was screened at international festivals and received a special mention at the Seoul International AI Film Festival.

The tournament experience connects directly to Warsaw Glitch 2026, an international festival where Owerczuk serves as Founder and Art Director, set to take place in August 2026 at Kinoteka in Warsaw.
