A group of 29 journalists, including Michał Owerczuk representing Game Ower Media, has co-authored the reportage collection Partyzanci. Dziennikarze na celowniku Łukaszenki. Published by Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek, the book is scheduled to reach bookstores on August 9.
The project was initiated by TVP Info foreign desk journalist Arleta Bojke following the detention of Raman Pratasiewicz at the Minsk airport in May. A total of 40 journalists joined the initiative pro bono, with 29 writing 20 reportages highlighting Belarusian media figures such as Andrzej Poczobut, Sciapan Puciła, Kaciaryna Andrejewa, Julija Słucka, and Pratasiewicz.
Wydawnictwo Adam Marszałek waived its profits from the release, and proceeds from book sales will go to Informacyjne Biuro Białoruś w Fokusie to assist repressed journalists. In addition, payments from a fundraiser on Pomagam.pl were organized to directly support the targeted reporters and help cover the publishing costs of the book.
An author meeting is scheduled for August 26 at Faktyczny Dom Kultury in Warsaw, with live streaming planned on YouTube and Facebook. Bojke has also announced plans to translate the book into foreign languages.
