OverJK has published a direct capability test of ByteDance’s latest video generation model, Seedance 2.0. The test features an AI-generated forest chase sequence featuring actors Tom Cruise and Gerard Butler, presented as a direct model output without post-production, compositing, or cherry-picking.

The test was designed using structured prompts to stress-test known weak points in generative AI video. These include sustained character consistency across cuts, rendering complex organic environments like dense foliage, and maintaining coherent choreography and motion dynamics between two recognizable characters simultaneously.
OverJK noted that Seedance 2.0 demonstrates noticeable progress over version 1.0, which struggled with multi-character scenes, likeness preservation over extended shots, and organic geometry. He emphasized that the evaluation serves as an honest benchmark to document where generative video technology currently stands, highlighting both its capabilities and its ongoing limitations.
